Partnership with Parents

We love working with you as parents and carers to support your child and their development and experiences. In order to achieve this, we set Cheeky Challenges each month. This is an opportunity for you to spend some quality time with your child. We choose a winner each month who receives a little prize and certificate. We set the following Cheeky Challenges:

January– Show us your favourite Christmas gift

February– Do something with someone you love

March– Bake or cook with a special lady

April– Decorate an egg or make an Easter bonnet

May– Find 3 Spring objects

June– Do something with your favourite man

July– Build a sandcastle

August– Create a summer picture

September– To try something new

October– To carve a pumpkin or dress up for Halloween

November– Watch fireworks

December– Visit Father Christmas

We also love to celebrate different cultures and events. These can differ from year to year to reflect on the different cultures we have within our nursery and local area. In the past, we have celebrated Chinese New Year, Independence Day and held a Jamaican Day.

Meet The Team
Every half term, we hold a ‘Meet the Team’ event, where families are invited to come into the nursery to have a look through their child’s Development Folder and have an informal chat with the staff working within their room. This is a great opportunity to talk to staff about your child’s development or any issues you may be having.

Book & Biscuit
Each term, we hold a book and biscuit event. This is a lovely session where we invite parents, carers and Grandparents in to come and share a story with their child over a cup of tea and a home made biscuit.

EY Man
We use a system called EY Man which we use for invoicing and keeping up to date information on your child. Once you return your booking form, you will be added to our system and emailed specific log in details. This enables you to check invoices, update details and check booking patterns.

Home Visits
As part of our robust settling in process, we carry out a Home Visit to meet you and your child in the comfort of your own home. During this, together we will carry out a Baseline Assessment. This enables us to get to know your child before they begin their settling in sessions.

Stay & Play
We love meeting other families and linking with members of the community. We hold FREE Stay & Play sessions for all age groups. Like and follow our Facebook and Instagram pages for more details.

Meet the Team/Parent’s Meetings
Each half term, we hold a ‘Meet the Team’ event. This is an opportunity for parents and carers to come into the nursery, have a chat with the staff working within that room and look through your child’s development folder. It is a great way to find out exactly what they have been up to and how they are progressing in all areas of their development.
We also arrange 1:1 meetings with you to discuss things more specifically to your child.

Graduation
Every July, we invite you to attend our Pre-School Graduation ceremony. This is a celebration for our Pre-School children leaving to go to big school where the children carry out a performance, have a little picnic and Saul Isaac come in to take photographs. It is a very special and emotional day!

Questionnaire & Feedback
Feedback from our families is absolutely crucial in us continuing to build upon and develop our practice. We also ask all families to leave us a review on www.daynurseries.co.uk and our Facebook page to enable other families to see what we can offer.

Uniform
We place uniform orders with our supplier at specific times throughout the year- March, June and December. Please email us at sunnydalenursery@hotmail.com for more details.
